The recent World Health Organisation (WHO) Executive Board meeting on 23 January 2024 the recommendations on the resolution on increasing availability, ethical access and oversight of transplantation of human cells, tissues and organs were discussed and decided. The resolution focused on strengthening and promoting effective measures and international cooperation on organ donation and transplantation to prevent and combat trafficking in persons for the purpose of organ removal and trafficking in human organs.
These recommendations have been publicly released and are available here.
