Join us for the 2nd Annual Eye & Tissue Banking Conference, being held at the Emporium Hotel. Brisbane, 4-5th March 2025!
The program will feature keynote presentations, research presentations, and panel discussions. Topics will include advances in the sector, production, research and product development, quality and GMP systems, training, and general operations.
Our social event will be held at the Rose & Crown pub next door to the Emporium Hotel, on the evening of Tuesday 4th March. Enjoy drinks and canapes in this British-themed gastropub, housed in a traditional Queenslander building.
Registration
Registration for both days, inclusive of all food, and the social event, is $280.
Registration deadline is Monday 24th Feb.

Abstract Submission
We welcome abstract submissions from anyone working in the eye and tissue banking sector. Abstracts should include a title, your name, your organisation, your email, and the category your talk would fit under. Abstracts should be maximum 200 words.

Shannon Schweitzer MBA CEBT
Executive Director, Donatesight.org
Shannon Schweitzer, is the Executive Director for Lions Eye Bank of West Central Ohio. She was previously the Technical Director and has over 20 years of experience in Eye Banking. Shannon has a BS in Biology and a Master’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration. Shannon is a Medical Advisory Board Member for Lifeline of Ohio and has previously served in other capacities on nonprofit boards. Shannon has taken on roles in several committees for the Eye Bank Association of America over the years and is currently serving as Speaker of the House. She has been in this role on the Board of Directors for the last 3 years. Shannon enjoys serving the members and the association to help propel the profession forward. Shannon is a collaborator and a huge proponent of the notion that together, we are better.
Jonathan Boyd MS LSSBB CTBS
Associate Director of Tissue Acquisition, Lonza Inc.
Jonathan has worked in the tissue banking and donation field for 16 years holding roles in tissue recovery and leadership. Jonathan is currently the Associate Director of Tissue Acquisition at Lonza where he supports divisions of Lonza engaged in research and clinical applications utilizing human organs, tissues, and cells. Prior to joining Lonza, Jonathan served as the Director of Education at AATB where he led the development of educational programming.
Jonathan is an active member of the AATB Recovery and Donor Eligibility Council, International Association of Coroners & Medical Examiners Board of Directors. the International Association of Coroners & Medical Examiners Advocacy Committee, and the National Association of Medical Examiners Ad-Hoc Organ and Tissue Procurement Committee.
Jonathan earned his undergraduate degree in communications and a master’s degree of science in management. Jonathan is a Certified Tissue Bank Specialist and a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the 40th ANZCS Meeting, to be held in Brisbane, Australia on March 6-7th, 2025.
Following the success of the 39th meeting in Melbourne in 2024, we look forward to welcoming eye bank staff, scientists, and ophthalmologists from across Australia and New Zealand to the Sunshine State. This event is an opportunity to share expertise, explore novel discoveries, and most importantly, to forge and renew professional and personal connections.
The 40th ANZCS meeting will be held at the Emporium Hotel Brisbane, a luxury destination located in the heart of the vibrant South Bank precinct. This venue offers guests the chance to experience Brisbane’s renowned arts, cultural, and dining scene, all within walking distance of the city’s beautiful riverfront.
The Scientific Program Committee is crafting a dynamic program, which will cover the latest developments in our subspecialty. Among the highlights, we are excited to welcome Dr. Sheraz Daya. Dr. Daya is a highly regarded UK-based ophthalmologist and medical director of the Centre for Sight, known for his expertise in corneal and refractive surgery. He has pioneered several techniques in eye surgery, including stem cell transplantation and complex corneal reconstruction. ANZCS 2025 will be a fantastic opportunity to share knowledge and foster connections across the corneal medical and research community.

Stefanie Dziedzic, MS, CFRE

Stefanie Dziedzic has over 20 years of progressive leadership experience in the nonprofit, healthcare, and human services space. Among her many accomplishments, Stefanie worked for 10 years at Gift of Hope Organ and Tissue Donor Network as a Requestor, was later promoted to Supervisor of the Requestor team and Manager of Donor Family Services. Stefanie has a deep personal connection to donation as a donor family member whose loved one gave the gift of life and sight and as a recipient of the gift of tissue. Stefanie’s fundraising background includes serving as the Director of Development for The Cradle and Cradle Foundation (a newborn and infant adoption agency) and as Director of Development for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Foundation. Most recently she served as VP of Development for Bulamu Healthcare, an international NGO focused on increasing access to high quality, low-cost public healthcare programs and services in East Africa. Stefanie joined the Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin in January 2024, where she is working to increase stakeholder engagement and awareness, and increase funding for programs and services. Stefanie holds a Master of Science degree in Thanatology (the scientific study of death and dying) from Marian University in Fond Du Lac, WI, a post-graduate certificate in Donation and Procurement Leadership from the Gift of Life Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE).
