The EBAANZ Medical Advisory Committee has assessed the risk of COVID-19 transmission through corneal transplants and makes the below recommendations:

1. Revoke current COVID-19 specific deferral periods
2. Treat as per influenza, pre-covid criteria
3. Refer to TGO 108 – where clinical judgement should be used to determine the relevance of the infection, fever or illness
