EEBA Annual Meeting 2026

Welcome to the XXXVII Meeting of the European Eye Bank Association (EEBA 2026), organised in collaboration with the Asociación Española de Bancos de Tejidos (AEBT) which will take place in A Coruña from 19 to 21 March 2026. The European Union’s new SoHO Regulation, which covers blood, tissues and cells, will enter into force in August 2027. This new scenario aims to improve patient and donor safety, foster innovation, harmonize standards across the EU, and will have an impact on all those entities and establishments that retrieve, test, process, preserve, store and distribute human donor tissue for therapeutic application.

Abstracts

The deadline for submission of abstracts is 24 November 2025.

The Scientific Programme for EEBA 2026 is organized into workshops, keynote lectures, free oral presentations and posters, and offers speakers the opportunity to share their most recent scientific developments, experiences and know-how with fellow eye banking professionals, medical experts, researchers and experienced ophthalmologists from Europe and abroad. The Local Organizing Committee encourages you to present your expertise and insight in the field of cornea banking and transplantation and to take advantage of the networking possibilities with international peers and experts in order to advance best practice and facilitate communication between all the different stakeholders involved in corneal transplantation, eye banking and the treatment of ocular surface diseases.

Accepted abstracts will be published as a dedicated supplement in the scientific journal BMJ Open Ophthalmology, and all free oral and poster presentations will have the chance to be considered for Best Oral Paper/Poster Awards.
